What's going on! So glad that
you're here.... just wanted to tell you a little about
myself. My name is Joe Haskins and I was born in 1987
and raised in Virginia. In the past I have found some
folks think things about me before they get to know me.
Bottom line, I'm just a country boy that loves to
entertain.
In 2007 I wrote and recorded my first album "Lyrically
Enhanced". It was a lot of work but not bad for my first
try on my own. I've been in music since I was really
young. In 1999 I was in a competition at South Square
Mall in NC. There were A LOT of talented people
competing for the prize but I won an all expense paid
trip to New York to appear on the Apollo. That was an
awesome experience.
My first appearance at the Apollo was filmed in August
of 1999. I was invited to come back in January of 2000.
I danced to Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" and
received a standing ovation on both occasions. I won 1st
place in the WBTM's Rising Star Talent Show in 1999,
2000, and 2001. In 2008 I was invited back to perform
and had a ball.
I have performed in San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, New
York, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia,
and in DC. August 2006 I won a slot to compete in the
Russ Parr Bus Tour Ciara Dance Off Finals in DC held at
the Lincoln Theater.
Along the way, I have met some amazing people such as
Steve Harvey, KiKi Shepherd, Tia and Tamera, Nick
Cannon, Drew Carey, Q-tip, Young Joc, 8 ball and MJG,
Sammie, Ciara, and many, many others and I would like to
add you to that list.
In 2009 I
wrote, recorded and produced my second CD "Directions at
21". This album is about my journey in life the year I
turned 21, the hard times and the good. Be sure to check
